Cardi B had social media in stitches Thursday night after sharing her latest tech paranoia, joking that her phone might be doing more than just listening in. In a post on X, the Bronx rapper said she’s convinced our devices are creeping into something deeper—like actually reading our minds.
"I’m really not trying to be a conspiracist but I’m starting to think these phones are not just listening to us.. they also reading our minds… government don’t come get me."
The theory left Cardi visibly rattled, and she even playfully begged the government not to “come for her” if her thoughts aren’t always so wholesome. Fans flooded the replies, some laughing at her wild imagination while others admitted they’ve had similar eerie experiences when ads pop up that seem a little too personal.
While Cardi admitted she’s not one to lean into conspiracy theories, this isn’t her first time raising eyebrows with outside-the-box claims. Back in the early days of the pandemic, she suggested celebs were being paid to say they tested positive for COVID, sparking widespread debate online.
Still, she’s not completely alone in her concerns. Though the idea of phones literally reading minds has no proof, it is well-documented that apps and social platforms track user behavior to deliver ads that can feel eerily specific.
