Funk Flex is gearing up to address rumors that he played a role in longtime Hot 97 DJ Enuff’s departure from the station. On Friday (Aug. 29), Enuff, whose real name is Ephrem Lopez, signed off from Hot 97 for the final time after a 27-year run. The farewell show drew support from heavyweights like DJ Khaled and Fat Joe, the latter telling TMZ that Enuff’s exit was “sad” and a major loss for New York radio.

In an interview with TMZ, Enuff suggested that Funk Flex may have influenced the decision to remove him from the air. Although he admitted he had no concrete evidence, Enuff said he believed in his “heart” that Flex had a hand in it. “I don’t deserve that from him,” he added, reflecting on how Flex once opened doors for him and other DJs at the station. Despite the speculation, Enuff maintained that his departure was also the start of a “new chapter.”

Hours later, Funk Flex clapped back on Instagram, teasing that he would deliver his side of the story in a livestream on Monday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. “MONDAY! 7PM! I GOT A STORY TO TELL!” Flex wrote, sharing a screenshot of Enuff’s TMZ video. “A LOT OF PEOPLE HANGING IN THIS VIDEO! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I JUST TOLD YALL DON’T PLAY WITH ME!” He told followers to save their comments until then, promising to clear the air when he officially moves into his new slot at the station.

Flex is set to begin hosting Hot 97’s 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. shift after Labor Day, taking over from his longtime 7 p.m. to midnight run. The move comes alongside other lineup changes at the station, with Nessa on Air shifting to afternoons and Ebro in the Morning expanding its hours. As the drama between Flex and Enuff simmers, fans will be tuned in Monday night to see if Flex puts the rumors to rest—or fans in more flames.
