French Montana is officially off the market! The Bronx rapper is engaged to Dubai royal Sheikha Mahra, according to The Breakfast Club, where host Loren LoRosa congratulated the couple during Wednesday’s show.
Rumors of the engagement had been swirling for weeks, but TMZ confirmed that French popped the question back in June during Paris Fashion Week—just after he walked the runway. Sheikha Mahra is more than just French’s fiancée—she comes from a family whose fortune is estimated at more than $18 billion. She first made headlines after announcing her split from her previous husband on Instagram, saying she was divorcing him because he was “occupied with other people.”
Despite speculation around her family’s wealth, LoRosa pushed back on the “gold digger” narrative surrounding the engagement. “Why can’t they just be in love? Why it got to be about her money?” she asked, pointing out that French has his own success and doesn’t need to rely on anyone financially.
