Cam Newton isn’t backing down in his ongoing back-and-forth with Gillie Da Kid. After Gillie suggested that Cam had taken their exchanges too personally, the former NFL MVP took to the mic with a fiery — and petty — rebuttal, making it clear that, in his eyes, this is all competitive fun.

Newton brushed off the idea that their beef had crossed a line: “It’s all entertainment, baby. Once upon a time, you were a rapper… in rap beef and battle rap, it’s all about similes, metaphors, and telling a story. I figured it was all entertainment.” Cam framed his comments as part of that same energy, calling their exchanges nothing more than “competitive heat.”

But while Newton insisted it was all fun, he couldn’t resist flexing his resume. Holding up career achievements, including his retired Auburn jersey and NFL accolades, Cam contrasted his path with Gillie’s rap grind.

“When you were trying to rap, I was dominating high school football, collecting five-star accolades, and adding hardware to my shrine,” he said. Newton even joked that while Gillie was beefing with other rappers, he was stacking “the kind of coin that moves in silence like lasagna.”

Newton also pushed back on Gillie’s “tough talk,” saying he has no interest in street bravado. “It’s all entertainment, baby. We’re just talking through mics and giving the people what they want. Don’t keep that tough guy talk with me… You should’ve kept that with Beanie Sigel.” He then flipped Gillie’s criticism back on him, pointing out that Gillie often gets personal when talking about Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts by dragging Cam’s own stats into the debate. “So I get personal with your career,” Newton quipped.

Closing his response, Cam urged Gillie to focus on building his successful platform instead of looking backward. Still, he promised that if Gillie keeps pressing, “Petty Cam” will be ready to respond. “Thank you, Petty Cam. Your work here is done,” Newton joked, before signing off with a grin.
