Offset’s new album KIARI marks a major turning point for the Atlanta rapper, both personally and musically. While the project delivers plenty of bravado and high-energy records, it’s the closing track, “Move On,” that has sparked a lot of conversation.

The song directly addresses his tumultuous relationship and divorce from Cardi B, offering a mix of accountability, lingering frustration, and a desire for peace. On the hook, Offset pleads for mutual closure: “I’m tryna move on in peace / I’m tryna move on / Happy for you, why you ain’t happy for me?” His verses walk a fine line between self-reflection and pointed remarks, with references to mistakes he’s owned up to, jabs at Cardi’s grievances with him, and even a mention of finding new love.

Despite the lyrical shade, Offset insists the record isn’t about bitterness—it’s about ending a painful chapter on his own terms. “It’s about moving on, like, peacefully,” he explained during his press run. “That’s what the message is supposed to be: moving on peacefully. It’s all love, peace. I just ended that up with the album, just to end that chapter… It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”
