Tory Lanez was absent from his latest appeal hearing on Monday, but his legal team and family made sure his presence was felt. The rapper’s attorney, Crystal Morgan, and his uncle, Speedy, stood firmly in his corner, continuing to challenge the conviction that sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

Speaking to TMZ outside the courthouse, Crystal Morgan expressed optimism about how the hearing unfolded. While acknowledging the uphill battle of overturning a conviction, she maintained that "convictions don’t equal justice" and described Tory as a victim of a flawed process. Her confidence hinted at the possibility of further legal strategies if this appeal does not lead to his release.

Lanez’s uncle, Speedy, also shared his belief that Tory has been wrongly accused. He echoed the views of many Tory supporters, insisting that Megan Thee Stallion and Kelsey Harris were not truthful in their testimonies about the 2020 shooting. According to Speedy, Tory’s imprisonment rests on false narratives that the defense hopes to dismantle.

Beyond the courtroom, Tory’s time behind bars has been harrowing. Reports confirm he was stabbed 14 times in California’s Tehachapi state prison, leaving him with a collapsed lung and other serious injuries. His legal team describes these experiences as an "unjust punishment for an innocent man."
