Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is grieving the loss of his longtime friend, Ariela La Langosta, after her sudden passing this week. The New York City influencer and bartender was remembered by friends, colleagues, and fans as a radiant spirit who touched countless lives.
6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute in Spanish, calling Langosta a “tremendous woman” and “my sister.” He also posted pictures and videos of their joyful moments together, including clips of them laughing and dancing. Langosta appeared in the rapper’s music video for "WAPAE," and their friendship stretched back years. In his post, 6ix9ine lamented that there was “no heart more beautiful” than hers.
News of Langosta’s death was confirmed by Ikon New York, the Washington Heights nightclub where she worked. “Today we lost our shining star,” the club shared in a statement. “Your joy, your humility, and the way you treated everyone with so much care always made you stand out. We still can’t believe it.”
Starlets of New York, another venue she worked at, also honored her memory, vowing to “raise a shot” in her honor and calling her a “beautiful soul who blessed us with love, memories, and laughter.”
