Fat Joe has no shortage of wild stories, but his recent retelling of an unforgettable night with O.J. Simpson might be one of his craziest yet.
Speaking on his show, the Bronx rap legend began by remembering his late friend “Joe Bentley” — a wealthy Italian man known for owning an almost ridiculous number of Bentleys. “When we’d go to Miami, this guy had too many Bentleys,” Fat Joe said. “He was rich, but the stuff he’d tell me…I thought he was full of it. Then he’d prove it was real.”
One story Bentley told Fat Joe was that during O.J. Simpson’s infamous 1994 white Bronco chase, he was actually waiting for Simpson and A.C. Cowlings at a private airport to help them escape. Joe admits he didn’t believe it — until years later.
On Bentley’s wife Nicole’s birthday, Fat Joe and the Terror Squad — including Remy Ma and Pistol Pete — pulled up to Bentley’s Palm Beach mansion, which was decked out with white horses and pure extravagance. Inside, to Joe’s surprise, was O.J. Simpson himself.
When it came time to cut the cake, Bentley handed O.J. the knife and yelled, “You did it!” O.J. then playfully chased him around the house with the blade, laughing. “It was insane,” Joe recalled. “We were all like, ‘This is really happening right now.’”
Fat Joe capped off the story with a wild hypothetical, asking his guests: If there was an ‘O.J. Simpson of 2025,’ who would it be?
