What began as a celebration for Metro Boomin’s latest mixtape, A Futuristic Summa, ended in an abrupt exit for the superstar producer over the weekend in Atlanta. While hosting a listening party for the project, Metro paused the music to make a straightforward request: anyone who didn’t contribute to the mixtape should step off the stage.
“If you did not rap or make a beat on this motherfing tape, please get the f off the stage,” he told the crowd. But when several fans ignored the warning, Metro opted to shut it down entirely and leave.
Online, many sided with Metro’s decision. “He did the right thing, not a soul moved when he told them to smh,” one commenter wrote, echoing the sentiment of others who felt the producer’s boundaries should have been respected.
