A wild new update is making rounds online — rapper Tay-K’s prison release date on the Texas Department of Criminal Justice records has reportedly been changed to August 8, 2099, which would mean he’d remain incarcerated for the next 74 years. Social media and forums have lit up with disbelief over the news, with many fans calling it surreal.

Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor Travon McIntyre, rose to notoriety in 2017 with his hit “The Race.” The track gained huge traction while he was actually on the run from law enforcement, a sequence of events that quickly went viral and cemented his name in hip-hop history.

Tay-K was first convicted for the 2016 home invasion that led to Ethan Walker’s murder, earning a 55-year sentence. In April 2025, he was also convicted for killing Mark Saldivar while evading capture, this time receiving an additional 80-year sentence. With his sentences running concurrently, he now faces a future that could extend well beyond our lifetimes.

The news of a 2099 release date has sparked a flood of online reactions, including somber reflections on lost potential.
