Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in the 1990s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, is stepping into a very different kind of role these days—one that trades in a cape for a badge.

In a recent video, Cain announced that he is a sworn law enforcement officer and has joined forces with ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement), expressing his support for the agency’s mission to protect the country and encouraging others to do the same.

“I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans—not just talk about it,” Cain said. “So I joined up.” While he emphasized that his role is more symbolic than operational, Cain voiced his willingness to serve wherever needed, even joking, “If that’s what it takes, absolutely... I somehow doubt I’ll be in that position, but I would be there in a heartbeat.”

Cain praised ICE’s work under former President Donald Trump, highlighting the agency’s efforts in arresting what he called “the worst of the worst”—including criminals, gang members, traffickers, and terrorists. He also promoted the benefits of joining ICE, pointing out incentives like a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment programs, enhanced retirement packages, and field operation pay, all while noting that a college degree is not required to apply.

The former Superman actor said he hopes to inspire other veterans and former law enforcement officers to consider joining the agency, especially at a time when, according to Cain, “people have to step up.” Citing examples like Daniel Penny and Dan Bongino as individuals who have made sacrifices for public service, Cain positioned his own move as a patriotic gesture. “These brave men and women need someone to stand up for them,” he said. “I’m stepping up.”
