Jacksonville rapper Ksoo, born Hakeem Robinson, has been found guilty in the murder trial of Charles McCormick, a rapper who went by Lil Buck.
The presiding judge officially revoked Ksoo’s bond and ordered him into the custody of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. A pre-sentence investigation report has been requested, which typically takes around 30 days to complete. His sentencing is now scheduled to be set during a hearing on September 8.
Ksoo’s legal team requested the sentencing date fall in the same week as his co-defendant, Leroy Whitaker, and all parties involved agreed to appear virtually on September 8 to determine a final sentencing date.
Shortly after the verdict was handed down, Ksoo took to Instagram to address what he views as racial bias in the courtroom. “I had an all white 12 jurors with 3 white state attorneys with a white judge in a courtroom with all white judges on the wall,” he wrote. “Every black person that I could pick on my jury was struck by the state. I just showed the whole world how Jacksonville, Florida is corrupt and my lawyers proved I was innocent. God got the last say-so.”
The trial, which has drawn national attention due to Ksoo’s ties to Jacksonville’s turbulent rap scene, marks a significant turn in a case that has been ongoing since his arrest in 2020. His guilty verdict caps years of legal back-and-forth, pretrial delays, and intense public scrutiny. As Ksoo awaits his sentencing, his comments suggest he may continue to fight the outcome in hopes of overturning the decision or appealing the verdict.
