Kwame Brown didn’t hold back during a recent livestream, gleefully reacting to the legal troubles of two of his longtime rivals, Gilbert Arenas and Shannon Sharpe. The former NBA top draft pick has had public feuds with both men over the years, and with Arenas facing federal charges and Sharpe reportedly let go by ESPN, Brown reacted to the news. In his characteristically unfiltered style, Brown called the moment his “birthday,” mocking both men and celebrating what he sees as long-overdue consequences.
Gilbert Arenas was arrested on Wednesday (July 30) at his Los Angeles home and is facing multiple federal charges, including running an illegal gambling operation and lying to investigators. If convicted, he could spend up to 15 years in prison. Brown, who played alongside Arenas during his time with the Washington Wizards, roasted his former teammate during the livestream, saying he was “stupid enough to play cards with the Israeli mob” and predicting that Arenas would eventually self-sabotage.
Shannon Sharpe also became a target in Brown’s livestream after news surfaced that he had parted ways with ESPN. According to reports, Sharpe settled a $50 million lawsuit involving allegations of assault and battery by a former girlfriend. Brown didn’t hold back, mocking Sharpe’s signature speech style and throwing his own past insults back at him.
Once considered a quiet disappointment in the league, Brown has transformed himself into a fiery and outspoken online personality. Through social media and livestreams, he’s built a following by clapping back at critics, calling out perceived hypocrisy in the sports world, and refusing to censor his opinions.
