Marcus Morris Sr., a former NBA forward known for his gritty play and journeyman career, was recently arrested in Florida on a fraud charge. According to public booking records, the 13-year league veteran was taken into custody on Sunday (July 27) in Broward County.

Authorities released a mugshot showing Morris with a serious expression—no smile, just a straight-on look into the camera. As of now, details surrounding the incident remain limited, but the comment on his booking record states: "Insufficient funds check." Records also show he was arrested at an airport.

Morris, a former standout at the University of Kansas, entered the NBA in 2011 as the 14th overall pick by the Houston Rockets. Over the years, he’s played for several teams across the league, including the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, and most recently, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers during the 2023-2024 season.

Throughout his career, Morris averaged 12 points and 4.4 rebounds per game across 832 appearances. While he’s made his mark on the court, he’s also faced legal issues in the past. In 2012, he participated in a diversion program tied to a battery charge, and in 2015, he was acquitted in an assault case linked to an alleged altercation.
