However, Akon dismissed these claims as falsities, labeling them “propaganda.” Akon asserted that Akon City is still very much on track, although he refrained from providing a specific timeline for its completion. He emphasized his commitment to extend the project as much as possible throughout his lifetime, aiming to showcase Africa’s vast potential and resources.
Akon suggested that much of the negative press derives from broader geopolitical tensions, noting Africa's history of external exploitation. He emphasized that projects like Akon City challenge perceptions, empowering younger generations to recognize Africa’s intrinsic value. He reiterated Africa's potential for economic growth, highlighting that the continent produces more millionaires annually than anywhere else but faces external pressures hindering its development.
