Rapper Cardi B is facing legal trouble nearly two years after a viral incident during a performance at Drai’s Beach Club in Las Vegas. The Grammy-winning artist has been hit with a civil lawsuit from a woman—identified only as Jane Doe—who claims Cardi struck her intentionally with a microphone during a show in July 2023.

The lawsuit accuses Cardi B of battery, assault, and negligence in connection with the now-infamous incident, which was widely circulated on social media at the time. According to the plaintiff, she was simply following Cardi B’s on-stage request for the crowd to splash water on her to help her cool off. But after participating, the woman says she was singled out and struck with a microphone thrown by the rapper.

Footage of the moment quickly went viral online, sparking widespread debate over whether Cardi’s actions were justified. The microphone in question even became a collector's item and was later sold at auction.

While Cardi B has not issued a public response to the lawsuit, her team previously claimed she felt "threatened" during the performance and was reacting instinctively in the moment. No criminal charges were filed at the time, but this civil suit could bring the situation back into the spotlight.
