Martial artist Michael Jai White expressed skepticism about YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul's chances of winning a legitimate boxing title. Despite Paul's recent victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., which elevated him to the WBA's cruiserweight rankings, White minced no words about the prospect of Paul becoming a bona fide champion, stressing that Paul's late start in boxing leaves him significantly behind seasoned fighters.
White acknowledged Paul's promotional prowess and ability to generate spectacle, but doubted his capacity to outbox top contenders. He remarked that the complexity and experience of top-ten fighters can't be underestimated, emphasizing that Paul's record chiefly features opponents past their prime. White did, however, applaud Paul for his achievements within his self-defined niche, though he insisted a win over a genuine top-ten cruiserweight would be sensational.
