Atlanta rapper Ca$h Out, best known for his 2012 hit "Cashin' Out," has been found guilty on several charges following a weeks-long sex trafficking trial in Fulton County, Georgia.
According to Atlanta News First, the verdict was handed down on Thursday after jurors deliberated for an entire day. Ca$h Out—real name John-Michael Hakim Gibson—stood trial alongside his mother and another co-defendant. All three were accused of violating Georgia’s RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act in connection to an alleged prostitution ring.
The jury found the trio guilty on most charges, including the RICO violation, although they were acquitted on some counts.
Prosecutors alleged that the group operated a sex trafficking business that lured women into prostitution. Several victims took the stand during the trial, sharing their experiences and helping build the state’s case against the defendants.
This case adds to a growing list of high-profile RICO trials involving rappers, as law enforcement in Georgia continues to pursue criminal enterprises operating under the guise of entertainment or music labels.
As of now, sentencing details have not been released. The verdict marks a significant fall from grace for Ca$h Out, who once enjoyed mainstream success in the hip-hop industry.
