Robbie Pardlo, best known as one-third of the early 2000s R&B group City High, has passed away at the age of 46. According to TMZ, a representative for Pardlo confirmed that he died on Thursday (July 17) in Willingboro, New Jersey, surrounded by close friends and family.
Robbie rose to fame alongside groupmates Claudette Ortiz and Ryan Toby as part of City High, a trio that made a lasting impact with their socially conscious lyrics and infectious melodies. Their breakout hit, “What Would You Do?” — produced by Wyclef Jean — was a major success, peaking in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100. The track tackled difficult topics like poverty and survival with raw honesty, earning a nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group at the 44th Annual Grammy Awards.
Later that same year, City High followed up with “Caramel” featuring rapper Eve, a sultry and catchy single that climbed into the Billboard Hot 100’s top 20 and became a fan favorite.
Though City High’s time in the spotlight was brief, their music left an indelible mark on early-2000s R&B and hip-hop. Robbie's powerful vocals and emotional delivery helped define the group’s sound and message — one that still resonates with fans today.
Beyond his musical accomplishments, Robbie was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Anika Pardlo, and their two children, Lyric and Chord-Andrew Pardlo.
Fans, peers, and collaborators have begun sharing tributes on social media, remembering Robbie not just for his talent, but for his spirit, authenticity, and the impact his music had on a generation.
