LiAngelo Ball, better known in the rap world as GELO, just released his new album League Of My Own—a follow-up to the buzz he generated with his track “Tweaker.”

One of the most talked-about songs on the album is “Wine N Dine,” where GELO appears to address recent criticism surrounding his role as a father. While he doesn't name anyone directly, fans believe the lyrics are aimed at his ex-girlfriend, Miss Nikki, who has publicly accused him of being absent from their children’s lives.

On the track, GELO raps: “They kick me when I'm down, so can you pick me up?/Say I'm a deadbeat daddy who don't give no f***s/Say I'm an ugly soul who just up and run/Talk to me dumb like I don't amount to nothing…”

He continues: “I never really been the type of n**** to reject s***/But I'm on my way, kicked out like two texts, b****/I can pull a dream b**** by yapping in a Tech 'fit/But every single day, you find a way to disrespect me.”

Tensions escalated earlier this year when news broke that GELO had entered a new relationship with influencer Rashida Nicole just months after Miss Nikki gave birth to their second child. In what seemed like a pointed Instagram post, Nikki shared: “My BD saw the amazing mom I was and made me a dad too. So thoughtful of him,” followed by, “U the best! Appreciate you.”

In a candid interview with Jason Lee, Miss Nikki revealed she learned about GELO’s new relationship via text—and claimed that he hasn’t been consistently present in their children’s lives since the breakup. She also made it clear there’s no going back, especially after GELO allegedly got Rashida Nicole pregnant.

Ironically, GELO and Rashida Nicole are now making headlines of their own, as the couple has reportedly filed for divorce—even as Rashida is expecting.

From fatherhood drama to romantic fallouts, GELO’s personal life is making nearly as much noise as his music. League Of My Own may be his boldest project yet—not just musically, but emotionally.
