Nessa Diab, longtime girlfriend of Colin Kaepernick, has joined the conversation sparked by Nicki Minaj’s recent accusations against Jay-Z and Roc Nation.

Following Nicki Minaj’s claims that Jay-Z sabotaged her career and owes her money, Nessa took to social media to draw parallels between Nicki’s experience and that of Kaepernick. She wrote, “The methods used against @NICKIMINAJ are remarkably similar to what I was informed was done to @Kaepernick7.”

Nessa went further to allege that Roc Nation received $5 million annually from the NFL over a five-year period — totaling $25 million — with the purpose of repairing the league’s image amid growing player protests. She explained, “Roc Nation evidently accepted 5 million annually for 5 years to suppress the escalating protests. AND specifically help them ‘move beyond the controversy around teams’ unwillingness to sign Kaepernick.’”

Adding another layer to the story, Nessa connected Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez to former President Donald Trump, noting Perez’s presidential pardon and the NFL owners’ political ties.

“She got her pardon by Trump — no coincidence the NFL owners are his buddies and also donated millions to his campaign.”

In a follow-up tweet, Nessa reflected on her past efforts to expose these issues, writing, “I called them all out YEARS ago, and so many people were scared to say it publicly, but would tell me how they agreed with me privately. Smh.”

This candid insight from Nessa Diab adds fuel to the ongoing debate about the intersection of sports, politics, and music industry power dynamics.
