Bishop T.D. Jakes is setting the record straight on rumors claiming he attended wild parties—labeled "freak-offs"—allegedly hosted by embattled music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.
During an appearance on Money and Wealth, a podcast hosted by entrepreneur John Hope Bryant, Jakes addressed the viral claims head-on, blaming the spread of misinformation on artificial intelligence and bot activity.
“When that first broke out, it was 44,000 bots that were released on me,” Jakes said around the 26:40 mark.
“Ninety-eight percent of those videos were AI-generated. We have got to stop getting our information from TikTok.”
Jakes also dismissed any ties to Diddy's ongoing legal troubles, which include federal allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering.
“If there were anything there, the FBI would’ve been in it,” he stated. “There’s no hiding it.”
The bishop’s comments come after AI-generated images of him and Oprah Winfrey with Diddy circulated online. Both Jakes and Oprah addressed the manipulated content during his annual Good Soil Forum in Dallas.
“First of all, I have never been near a Puff party. I have never been near a Puff party,” Oprah said firmly.
“Anybody who knows me knows—if there is a party, I am the first one out. That’s just not who I am. I like to sit at home with my thoughts by the fire, with the dogs.”
Jakes acknowledged he once briefly attended a party hosted by Diddy but clarified the interaction was minimal, as he stated, “I went to one party, told him ‘happy birthday,’ and I was gone in 30 minutes.”
