Young Thug’s longtime attorney, Brian Steel, has filed a motion seeking to modify the rapper’s sentencing terms in connection with his high-profile YSL RICO case.

According to the filing, Georgia law permits motions to modify a sentence within one year of sentencing. While the motion doesn’t specify exactly which aspects they want changed, it requests a formal hearing on the matter.

In the document, Young Thug — born Jeffery Williams — “respectfully requests a hearing on this Motion and, at the conclusion of same, asks this Honorable Court to grant the above-requested relief and modify Mr. Williams' sentence.”

Thug is currently serving a commuted jail sentence with credit for time served, followed by 15 years of probation. As part of his probation terms, he’s required to stay out of the metro Atlanta area for the next 10 years, with exceptions only for special occasions such as weddings, funerals, graduations, or serious family health emergencies.
