It looks like Drake may have officially ended his longtime friendship with LeBron James — and fans think his latest ink update confirms it.

Back in 2018, Drake paid tribute to the NBA legend by getting a tattoo of LeBron in his iconic St. Vincent-St. Mary “Fighting Irish” high school jersey on his left bicep. But new photos show the tattoo has been altered to feature a Thunder jersey with the number 2 — the number worn by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the reigning NBA MVP, Finals MVP, and the newest NBA 2K cover star.

The change comes on the heels of rising tension between the two stars. A leaked track titled “Fighting Irish Freestyle” had Drake referencing a moment between him and LeBron in what sounded like a subtle diss:

“Remember we traded watches, I gave you the Arabic dial and you gave me the numbered edition.”
Fans also believe Drake threw more shade in his recent single “What Did I Miss?” — pointing to LeBron’s attendance at Kendrick Lamar’s Juneteenth “Pop Out” concert, despite Drake and Kendrick’s ongoing beef. On the track, Drake raps:

“I saw bro at the Pop Out with them, but been d***-riding gang since ‘Headlines.’”

While neither party has publicly addressed the rumors, the covered-up tattoo — once a sign of deep admiration — now speaks volumes.
