Leena Sayed, the ex-girlfriend of boxing champion Devin Haney and mother of his infant daughter, was granted a temporary restraining order against him on Tuesday (July 1), according to TMZ. A judge also ordered Haney to have no visitation with their daughter, Khrome, "until further order of the court."
The restraining order stems from a petition Sayed filed last week, in which she accuses Haney of repeated abuse throughout their relationship — including a disturbing incident in which he allegedly pushed her while she was nine months pregnant.
According to court documents, Sayed claims the abuse began a year into their relationship. She alleges Haney once punched her in the stomach and kicked her out of their shared Las Vegas home. The most alarming accusation details an incident during her pregnancy: “Devin pushed me while I was nine months pregnant, causing me to fall on my tailbone because I would not give him my cell phone,” she wrote.
Sayed also claims the threats continued as recently as this month. She submitted text messages allegedly from Haney in which he told her she would be "handled in the streets," leaving her “afraid for my life, health, and safety.”
She further stated that Haney made decisions about their daughter without her consent — including piercing the baby’s ears at eight months old. “Devin has hurt me in the past by punching me, pushing me while pregnant, threatening me, and arguing with me in the presence of our daughter,” she said in the filing. “I am concerned about his behavior and worried that he will act upon his threat to me stating, ‘U will see.’”
Sayed is requesting a domestic violence restraining order (DVRO) that grants her sole legal and physical custody of their daughter.
