A video of rapper Remy Ma engaging in a tense confrontation outside a Queens courthouse on Tuesday (June 24) is quickly going viral.
The incident reportedly occurred shortly after a hearing for Remy’s 23-year-old son, Jayson Scott, who was arraigned earlier this month on a seven-count indictment. Charges against him include first- and second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
In the video, Remy is approached by a woman identified as Jazmin Dior, who can be heard telling the rapper to “go around the corner” to settle the dispute. Remy responds, “Come on, beat me up.”
Following the altercation, Jazmin Dior took to social media to express her frustration with what she perceived as Remy’s lack of empathy. “Realistically, I can never speak to my father again. You can see your son,” she said in a post, alluding to her connection to the murder case.
Jayson Scott stands accused alongside alleged co-conspirator Richard Swygert of being hired to carry out the murder of 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux in Queens on June 7, 2021. Surveillance footage and phone records reportedly link both men to the scene. If convicted, Scott faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Swygert is already serving time for an unrelated 2021 murder.
