In a statement to TMZ Hip Hop, Jaaybo shared his gratitude and pride for being chosen despite his legal setbacks. “I was disappointed I couldn’t make it in-person, but for XXL to allow me to still be selected even though I’m in jail is an honor,” he said. “I know they don’t have to do it—so that’s gangsta!”
Being named alongside artists like GELO and ian—two of the genre’s most buzzed-about newcomers—only adds to the moment's weight. “It’s been some greats to be chosen, so I’m glad to be a part of the 2025 class. I fux with ’em,” Jaaybo added.
