Houston rapper Maxo Kream was arrested on Friday (June 27) following a routine traffic stop that quickly escalated. According to TMZ, Maxo was initially pulled over for having expired tags dating back to May.
Things took a turn when the officer stepped out of his patrol car—Maxo allegedly sped off in his vehicle. Authorities later caught up with the rapper, and upon searching his car, they discovered two firearms.
Maxo was charged with unlawful carrying of weapons by a documented gang member and also received a misdemeanor for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
The rapper didn’t stay silent about the incident. He addressed the arrest on his Instagram Stories, posting, “12 be lying like a hoe,” and adding, “I wasn’t ‘ELUDING’—my Lambo just a lil fast. But na, no more jail.”
No word yet on whether Maxo has posted bail or when his next court appearance is scheduled.
