Jim Jones is standing firm on his controversial take that he’s more culturally relevant than Nas. During a recent appearance on DJ Clue’s Bag Fuel podcast, the Harlem rapper reignited the debate, stating, “Nas has never been this viral.”

This latest jab follows Jim’s comments on the Don’t Quote Me podcast, where he claimed to have had more influence on the younger generation than Nas. When asked to elaborate by Shannon Sharpe on Nightcap, Jones acknowledged Nas’ lyrical skill but questioned his long-term impact. “Nas was nice when I was in high school. Nas was dope. We appreciate him. He had a little bit of a run,” he said. “But Nas always came up second to [Jay-Z] and DMX and all these other people. He never had that type of influence on us—except for his first album.”

Doubling down on his stance, Jim said too many people are “stuck on sales” rather than cultural influence. He pointed out that many artists with gold and platinum plaques from the '90s are now irrelevant. To punctuate his point, Jim pulled out a wad of cash on camera and challenged any rapper from his era to a face-off.

While his statements have drawn criticism from hip-hop purists, Jim Jones is clearly unbothered—confident in his impact and ready to prove it by any means necessary.
