Ja Rule caught up with TMZ backstage at Hot 97’s Summer Jam, fresh off his performance, where he was asked about his longtime friend and collaborator Fat Joe — who’s currently facing public scrutiny after a bombshell lawsuit filed by his former hype man.
Ja reassured fans that Fat Joe is holding up well despite the headlines. “He’s good, I actually spoke to Crack yesterday,” Ja said, referring to Fat Joe by his nickname. “I was asking him if he’s still not available for tonight,” he added with a laugh, “’cause he had a show. But yeah, he’s good. He’s in good spirits. It’s fine.”
The lawsuit, filed by Terrance Dixon — Fat Joe’s former hype man — includes shocking claims, including an allegation that Joe once ordered a hit on 50 Cent at the height of their early-2000s feud. The accusation has stirred controversy, although both Fat Joe and 50 Cent have publicly dismissed the claims.
50 Cent addressed the situation on Instagram, showing unexpected support for his former rival. “These baseless accusations and claims are not credible,” he wrote. “I’m sorry Joe has to endure the public scrutiny and damage to his reputation. THIS IS A STICK UP!”
