Joycelyn Savage is speaking out publicly in defense of R. Kelly, pushing back against her parents’ renewed claims that she’s still under the disgraced singer’s control — despite his six-year incarceration.
In a video posted over the weekend, Savage declared, “I am not a victim. I’ve been with Robert for 10 years. He has been incarcerated for six years, and I have seen him every weekend for the past six years.” Her statement comes in response to her parents, who have long maintained that she’s being manipulated by Kelly even from behind bars.
Savage went on to reveal that she recently proposed to R. Kelly and that the couple plans to get married and start a family. “He said yes,” she said with a smile. “We are planning on getting married and having a family, and I am very excited about that.”
Addressing public skepticism and her family's accusations, Savage urged viewers to ignore her parents’ narrative. “Please do not believe the lies that my mother and father are coming out here saying about me and Robert,” she said. “I am not held against my will. I am not a sex slave. I am not brainwashed or any of those crazy lies that were told on me.”
She concluded the video with a plea for Kelly’s release: “I just want Robert to get the righteous justice that he deserves. Because he deserves to be free. Enough is enough. I’m tired, and he’s tired as well.”
