Warren G was the latest guest on The Breakfast Club, where he reflected on his influential role in shaping hip-hop history. During the conversation, the hosts acknowledged his impact on both coasts—crediting him for helping Def Jam gain momentum in the early '90s and for introducing Dr. Dre to Snoop Dogg, a move that helped define West Coast rap.

Charlamagne Tha God pointed out that Warren G doesn't always receive the flowers he deserves, despite his undeniable contributions. When asked how he felt about that, Warren remained humble, saying he prefers to let his work speak for itself. "I don't want to get into that mode where I start trippin' because I go hard," he said. "I'm not with all the arguing and letting stuff escalate."

He went on to express his frustration with people who speak negatively about Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg behind their backs but act friendly in person. That led to Warren candidly addressing his disappointment about not being included in the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside Dre, Snoop, and other West Coast icons. “I was pissed off,” he admitted.

When DJ Envy asked whether he ever discussed the situation with Dr. Dre, Warren revealed that they haven’t spoken in years, despite his efforts to reach out. “I don’t know what kind of relationship we have,” he said. “We haven’t seen each other in a while. We haven’t talked or hung out.”

Despite the distance, Warren G still holds Dre in high regard, referring to him as “my sensei.” He also shared his hope to one day sit down with him and clear the air.
