While streaming from the parking garage at the event, Kai crossed paths with Wale but didn’t recognize the D.C. rapper. Once back in his vehicle, Kai asked his team who Wale was, even after one of his friends mentioned the rapper’s hit single “Lotus Flower Bomb.” Despite the song’s success, Kai admitted he had no clue who Wale was—leaving his chat buzzing in disbelief.
The moment didn’t go unnoticed. Later during the show, Wale approached Kai and addressed the viral exchange. “That s*** making me look crazy now, just so you know,” Wale said. “That’s making me look crazy, the exchange we had in the hallway. I mean, they running with it, but we’ll talk later.”
As Wale spoke, Kai—seated next to Snoop Dogg—looked a bit taken aback but ultimately laughed it off and dapped up the rapper, brushing off the tension with a smile.
