Ray J stirred up major controversy over the weekend after making a bold and unexpected claim during a live stream. While addressing rumors about partying with rapper Sexyy Red, the reality star and entrepreneur said, “You can clip that all you want to. Empty the clip. Talking ‘bout I partied with Sexyy Red—I slept with Sexyy Red. Ask her. That’s on my dead homies. I slept with her.”
The statement quickly went viral, sparking backlash and a swift response from Sexyy Red herself. Taking to X, the rising rap star shut down Ray J’s claim with a fiery post: “Cornball a** lyin on ya meat is weird,” she wrote. She followed up with, “Play in yo a** not wimme. Even to be sayin we ‘slept’ on the plane together. I said hi and kept it pushin. Is you coo cuh?!”
Adding to the drama, Justin Bieber—who recently made headlines for his budding friendship with Sexyy Red and attended her birthday celebration—chimed in via Instagram Stories. “This rubs me real wrong. Sorry @Sexyyred. U the GOAT,” he wrote in support of the rapper.
Bieber also shared screenshots of DMs between Ray J and Sexyy Red, in which Ray J admitted he was trolling. “You know I [was] playin. I’m always trolling and you know I love you,” he wrote. “I’ll make it clear right now on my main page—sorry if you mad at me. I’ll make it right and I’m really sorry, Sexyy.”
Ray J later attempted to clear the air during another live stream, where he backtracked on the claims and gave a more innocent version of events. “She was sitting by me [on the plane]. She had her space. I had my space. She had her own blanket, her own pillow. I had my own blanket and my own pillow. We had a long flight. We both were tired, so we went to sleep,” he said.
He continued, “Just like we would sleep with anybody else that was sitting next to us on a plane. I went out of control, and I said that I slept with Sexyy Red. That’s insensitive and it’s not okay—and it’s trolling at the highest level. I want to say, Sexyy Red, my bad.”
