FBI Director Kash Patel weighed in after Elon Musk ignited a political firestorm with a viral tweet accusing President Donald Trump of being named in the sealed Jeffrey Epstein files.

“Time to drop the really big bomb,” Musk posted Thursday afternoon on X. “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

He followed up with another cryptic message: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

The explosive claim quickly spread across social media, triggering widespread speculation and backlash. Musk, who owns X (formerly Twitter), offered no evidence to support his statement. As of now, neither the White House nor federal agencies have commented publicly on the allegation.

The controversy surfaced on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, where host Joe Rogan questioned FBI Director Kash Patel about Musk’s claim at around the 1-hour and 28-minute mark.

“How does he know? Does he know that Donald Trump’s in the Epstein files? Does he have access to the Epstein files?” Rogan asked.

“I don’t know how he would,” Patel responded. “But I’m staying out of the Trump-Elon thing. That’s way outside my lane.”

Rogan concluded the segment by criticizing Musk’s online habits: “I understand he owns Twitter. I think it’s bad for your mental health. I think posting things publicly all day and arguing with people all day is bad for you.”

To date, Musk has not elaborated further or offered documentation to support his claim. The Epstein files, many of which remain sealed, have long been a source of public intrigue and conspiracy theories, especially involving high-profile figures.

The allegation adds another layer of controversy as President Trump enters his second term under renewed scrutiny from both critics and political opponents.
