A viral video of escaped inmate Antoine Massey pleading his innocence has prompted a police raid at a New Orleans home where authorities believed he was hiding on Monday night (June 2).
While Massey was not found at the residence, officers did recover clothing they believe he wore during the filming of the video. According to reports, relatives tipped off police about the location where Massey may have recorded the footage. The identity of the homeowner has not been publicly disclosed.
Massey is one of ten inmates who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center more than two weeks ago. As of now, only Massey and convicted murderer Derrick Groves remain at large.
Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson urged Massey to surrender peacefully, stating, “Cooperating with law enforcement is in his best interest and may help avoid additional charges. It is important that justice is served appropriately and that due process is followed.”
