A video went viral over the weekend showing DDG’s brother, DuB, slamming a man to the ground after the man repeatedly called the rapper “Doo Doo Garbage.” Now, DDG is speaking out and defending his brother’s actions.

During a recent X Spaces conversation, DDG addressed the incident and warned fans about the nickname he’s long been trolled with online. “Nobody comes up to me and says ‘Doo Doo Garbage,’” he said. “If a fan came up to me on some ‘Doo Doo Garbage’ s***, I’m going to hold that n**** up so goddamn bad. N****s know better.”

DDG claimed the heckler had been antagonizing them throughout the DreamCon event, and he believes his brother acted out of fear. “He kept trying to just bother us, so he lost Sonic rings,” DDG joked. “It’s not our fault. This is very miniature, and it was a skit, obviously.”

He continued, “It don’t matter what I do, man. You can get a whooping at home right now — your momma can whoop you — and somehow it’ll be my fault. I guess it’s part of being lit. Y’all know when it comes to fame level, I’m like Michael Jackson turnt.”

Meanwhile, the man involved in the altercation shared his side of the story online, stating he plans to take legal action.

“I heard about DDG before. I heard the name, I heard the term ‘Doo Doo Garbage.’ I thought it’d be funny, just a little joke,” he explained. “So I call him ‘Doo Doo Garbage’ from around the way. His homeboys stop, come back — his brother DuB tries to press me. ‘What you say?’ I said, ‘Doo Doo Garbage.’ Then he pushed the s*** out of me.”

He added that the incident left him with broken personal items and banned from the event. “They done broke my chain. I’m banned from the event, glasses gone. […] I thought it was all jokes.”

As of now, no official charges have been filed, but the man has stated his intent to sue both DDG and DuB over the incident.
