According to TMZ, Offset has filed an amended response in his ongoing divorce proceedings with Cardi B, now requesting spousal support. The filing, made earlier this month in Georgia, does not specify an amount, but it marks a notable shift in the legal battle between the high-profile rap couple.
Despite the new request, the Migos rapper is keeping the rest of his demands the same — including joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Kulture and Wave. He has also asked that Cardi B’s home continue to serve as the primary residence for the children.
The updated filing comes after Cardi B, born Belcalis Almánzar, shut down rumors last year that she was seeking child support. In August 2023, following initial media coverage of their separation, Cardi took to social media to address what she called false reporting.
"Ok, this is getting weird cause I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Never in my career no matter what I went through I had friends or family go to the media sooo I don’t know who is this damn source going to People magazine. Even wit my filling [sic] I’m not asking for child support. My claim is for him to only pay for the bills he already pays on the kids and the new one.”
Cardi B filed for divorce in July 2024, citing that their marriage was "irretrievably broken." While the couple has separated before — including a high-profile split in 2020 that was later called off — this appears to be their most serious and formal attempt to part ways.
Offset and Cardi B were married in secret in 2017 and later revealed their union publicly. The pair have long been one of hip-hop's most talked-about couples, navigating both personal and professional highs and lows under public scrutiny.
As of now, the court has not ruled on Offset’s request for spousal support, and no public hearings have been scheduled regarding the amended filing.
