NBA YoungBoy is expressing gratitude after receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump on Wednesday (May 28), a move that marks a turning point in the rapper's legal battles and opens the door for his long-awaited return to touring.

“I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and for giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father, and as an artist,” YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden, wrote in a statement shared on Instagram. “This moment means a lot.”

The Baton Rouge rapper, whose stage name stands for "Never Broke Again," added that the pardon “opens the door to a future I’ve worked hard for, and I’m fully prepared to step into this.”

Trump’s pardon lifts the federal restrictions that had previously barred Gaulden from traveling, allowing him to embark on his 32-date national "MASA Tour" — an acronym for "Make America Slime Again."

The tour announcement, paired with the presidential pardon, marks a new chapter for the prolific rapper, who has faced a series of legal issues in recent years but continues to maintain a stronghold in hip-hop with his loyal fan base and relentless work ethic.
