Kai Cenat was among the star-studded guests at the American Music Awards on Monday night (May 26), where he brought his signature energy to the event by livestreaming from his seat. While the popular streamer appeared to be enjoying himself throughout the night, things briefly took an awkward turn when a fan interrupted his stream to offer an unsolicited tribute to Kanye West.

The interaction began innocently enough. A man approached Kai, introducing his young daughter. But the moment quickly pivoted when the man seized the opportunity to speak on Ye, saying, “Hey, where’s Kanye at? We wanna say, we love Ye. We love Ye for being outspoken regardless, ’cause it’s America, and I think it’s a great thing to live in a free country. Don’t you, Kai? It’s a free country, and it’s cool to have opinions.”

Kai, visibly unimpressed, pushed back, “So, you really hopped on my stream, knowing my influence, to come on here and say that?”

The man doubled down, replying simply, “Yeah.”

Not wanting to give the moment any more airtime, Kai calmly shut it down, stating, "This is what I’m gonna say: I think I want to protect my energy, so I’mma politely ask you to get out of here, cuz," he said.

Kai added, “I don’t want that. Whatever you got going on, you deal with that.”

The moment, captured live on stream, quickly made its way around social media, with fans praising Kai for handling the situation with maturity and maintaining control over his platform.
