Kid Cudi made headlines on Thursday (May 22) after testifying in music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial. On the stand, the rapper detailed how his past relationship with Cassie allegedly led to personal retaliation from Diddy.
During his testimony, Cudi claimed he believed Diddy was involved in a 2012 incident in which his Porsche was set on fire. According to Cudi, someone cut the roof of his convertible and threw a Molotov cocktail inside. He stopped short of directly naming Diddy as the perpetrator but testified, “I believe he had something to do with it.”
Cudi also recounted a troubling visit from Diddy’s assistant. He said he received a call informing him that Diddy was at his home. By the time Cudi arrived, Diddy was gone—but he found unwrapped Christmas presents scattered around and his dog locked in a bathroom.
The testimony sparked a wave of reactions across social media. Rapper Young Thug briefly weighed in on X (formerly Twitter), posting, “Dam Cudi a rat lol.” The post was deleted just minutes later, but not before it stirred controversy among fans.
Meanwhile, Kid Cudi took to Instagram to thank those who offered their support during what he described as a “stressful situation.”
“I’ve been seeing all the love and support, and I just want to say thank you so much,” he said in a video shared across his social platforms. “People been hitting me up the past week just checking in—and even today—it really means a lot to me, man. You guys are the best. I love y’all. This is a stressful situation. I’m glad it’s behind me.”
As the trial continues, Cudi’s testimony adds another layer to the mounting allegations against Diddy, who has denied all claims of wrongdoing.
