Chris Brown has been released on $6.7 million bail following a court hearing on Wednesday (May 21), as he prepares to stand trial for an alleged assault at a London nightclub.
Judge Tony Baumgartner granted the singer's release under the hefty bail amount, which will be forfeited if Brown fails to comply with the court's conditions or misses his next scheduled appearance.
Although Brown was not present at the hearing, he addressed his release on Instagram, posting: "From the cage to the stage!" — a likely reference to his upcoming tour. The singer is set to return to the stage beginning June 8, with scheduled performances across Manchester, London, Cardiff, Birmingham, and Glasgow through June and July.
The charges stem from a 2023 incident at Tape nightclub in London, where Brown allegedly assaulted a music producer with a tequila bottle. Last week, he was formally charged with grievous bodily harm in connection with the case.
