Part 3: Skipp Townsend on Becoming a Blood "By Default", Beefing with Rollin 30s & Rollin 60s Crips
Part 1: Skipp Townsend on Crips Co-Founder Tookie: Soon As We Saw Him Coming, We Were Gone

--------

Skipp Townsend discussed his experiences growing up alongside the infamous Eight Tray Gangster Crip, Monster Kody. Although Townsend and Kody knew each other from a young age, they were not involved in gang activities as children. Townsend described Kody’s early reputation as a bully, recalling how kids would automatically engage in fights when passing a particular street corner where Kody and his friends often lingered. Monster Kody, a name that stuck after he allegedly severely beat a man at the age of 13, rose to notoriety for his violent exploits and chilling acts within the gang scene. Townsend noted that Kody’s more brutal actions occurred later, particularly after Kody was shot and following gang wars in 1979.
