As Cassie wrapped up her second day of cross-examination in Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal trial, she delivered testimony that shed further light on the complexity of their relationship. During her time on the stand, she revealed that her now-husband, Alex Fine, once called her during a consensual sexual encounter with Combs.
Defense attorneys focused on challenging Cassie’s timeline of events, specifically questioning the accuracy of her earlier claim that Combs raped her following a dinner in August 2018. They scrutinized whether the alleged assault occurred in August or September of that year.
Despite the inconsistency in dates, Cassie testified that she continued to have consensual sex with Combs after the alleged assault. She told prosecutors that the FaceTime call from Fine occurred during one of those consensual encounters.
Cassie’s testimony follows her detailed account of a long and turbulent relationship with Combs that spanned more than a decade. She described sacrificing her music career and personal autonomy, saying she was "basically a sex worker" during much of their relationship. She also alleged that she was pressured into participating in so-called "freak offs" — sex parties arranged and directed by Combs, often involving male sex workers.
