Tensions continue to rise following news that singer and actress Halle Bailey has been granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG. In court filings, Bailey accused DDG—who is also the father of her infant son—of months of harassment and emotional abuse. The legal move has sparked widespread public attention and a flurry of commentary on social media.
Now, DDG’s brother, DuB, has broken his silence to publicly defend his sibling.
During a recent livestream, DuB appeared visibly emotional while addressing the situation. “This sht is making me hella emotional,” he admitted to viewers, adding that the allegations and resulting legal restrictions have taken a toll on his brother—especially when it comes to access to his son. “That’s why my brother’s on [streaming] till he goes to sleep,” DuB said, suggesting that the lack of visitation has deeply affected DDG’s mental state. “It’s lowkey f***ing him up,” he added.
DuB briefly stepped away from the camera as his emotions escalated. When he returned, he wore sunglasses in an attempt to hide his teary eyes. He then turned to publicly question the narrative being presented in the media and in Bailey’s legal filings.
“Do you think my brother would hit a fing movie star?” he asked, referring to Bailey’s rising fame as a Disney lead actress. “Y’all fing serious?” He went on to suggest that both DDG and Bailey are too high-profile to engage in physical altercations, stating, “Do you think Halle would hit my brother? This popular a** n***a? Do you think that they could be hitting each other, bro? No.”
While DuB did not offer concrete evidence to refute the allegations, his comments reflect growing division among fans—and even within the entertainment community—about the situation.
As of now, DDG has not publicly addressed the restraining order or the accusations made against him. Bailey, who has remained largely private throughout her pregnancy and early motherhood, has also refrained from making direct public statements beyond her legal filings.
