A new lawsuit was filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs on Wednesday (May 14), as a woman identified as Jane Doe accused the music mogul of raping her in 2001. The lawsuit arrives amid Diddy’s mounting legal troubles, including a high-profile federal sex trafficking investigation.

Filed in New York County Supreme Court, the suit alleges the assault occurred in July 2001 and also names Bad Boy Entertainment as a defendant. According to the filing, Jane Doe first met Combs in May 2001 in an elevator, where he asked for her phone number. Days later, they met again at a club, where she says she rejected his attempt to kiss her. Despite that, she continued to see him throughout the summer.

The woman recalls another club outing in July, during which she and a friend were given drinks that made them feel “weird.” Later that same night, she alleges she went to Combs’ New York apartment, where the assault took place.

According to the complaint, Combs allegedly led her into his bedroom, placed his hand around her throat, and made a threatening comment before raping her. She claims she screamed for him to stop, but he continued until he was close to climax.

Following the incident, she says she avoided further contact with Combs and later sought therapy. The lawsuit states she "suffered physical abuse, emotional abuse, trauma, injury, and psychological damage" as a result of the alleged assault. She is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages.

As details of the lawsuit began circulating online, rapper 50 Cent weighed in on social media, taking a jab at Combs by referencing a line from the complaint. Posting to Instagram, he wrote, "Toosie Roll, Toosie Roll, to the left to the left to the right to the right to the front to the front to the back to the back now slide. LOL THAT’s WHY HE IN THE CORNER Masterbating!"

50 Cent has been a frequent critic of Combs, often using social media to mock his legal issues and personal controversies.

Combs has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct. This case adds to the growing list of legal battles he faces as scrutiny around his past behavior continues to intensify.
