Singer Cassie took the stand on Tuesday (May 13) during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing federal trial, delivering emotional testimony about the evolution of their relationship — from mentorship to alleged manipulation and control.

Cassie recounted how her relationship with Diddy began when she was a young artist seeking guidance and attention in the music industry. She explained that, at first, his interest made her feel valued.

“I wanted to be around Sean for the same reasons as everyone else at the time — this exciting, entertaining, fun guy who also happened to have my career in his hands. It felt special because not a lot of people got that time with him.”

The relationship turned romantic on Cassie’s 21st birthday, when she says they took ecstasy together, shared a kiss, and had sex for the first time.

“We were just together,” she testified. “I’d become one of his girlfriends after that trip.”

Over time, Cassie described a deepening pattern of controlling behavior. She told the court that Diddy would frequently send assistants to track her down and would call her persistently until she picked up.

She also revealed that despite recording enough material to fulfill her 10-album contract with Diddy, none of it was ever released.

“Recording music became busy work,” she said. “Just control over what I was doing every minute of the day.”

Cassie testified that Diddy’s influence extended beyond the studio. She claimed her schedule became consumed with attending parties and recovering from them, leaving no space to pursue her career independently.

“The freak offs became a job,” she told the courtroom. “There was no space to do anything else.”

Her testimony marks a significant moment in the high-profile case, which has drawn increasing scrutiny over the past year as multiple allegations against the music mogul have come to light.
