Former NBA star Paul Pierce made good on his promise to walk 20 miles to work at Fox Sports’ TV studios after the Boston Celtics lost the night before to the New York Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The Knicks' win gives them a 2-0 lead in the tournament, which surprised Pierce, who thought the Celtics would tie up the tournament. The former Celtics star was so confident that he stated, "If the Celtics lose Game 2 at home, I promise you I’m walking here tomorrow! I’m walking here! I’m walking here! Fifteen miles! I’m walking here! In my robe! No shoes on! Bare feet!”
Pierce then made good on his promise of walking to work, which he posted on his Instagram Stories, stating, "This is crazy, dog. I can’t believe this! [Celtics] got me out here like this. I’m sweating. So I’m about like four miles in right now, so I think I got like another 16 miles. I’ve been going for about an hour and a half right now. Alright, I’ll keep y’all updated. I’m a man of my word, though."
