Actor and comedian Rondell Sheridan—beloved by fans for playing Raven Baxter’s lovable father, Victor, on Disney Channel’s That’s So Raven and its spin-off Cory in the House—is opening up about a serious health scare that has sidelined him for weeks.

In a video message shared to Instagram, Sheridan revealed that he’s been hospitalized since April after what was initially believed to be a minor gastric issue turned out to be a more serious condition: pancreatitis.

“I went into the hospital in April thinking I had some kind of gastric issue,” Sheridan explained. “After a ton of tests, they found out my pancreas is inflamed. I have pancreatitis, and there’s not much you can really do except wait for the inflammation to go down.”

The actor noted that while the treatment for pancreatitis often involves rest, hydration, and a careful diet, the process can be long and painful. Sheridan shared that his current health challenges have forced him to step away from work indefinitely, something that he said was difficult but necessary for his recovery.

“This is going to keep me out of commission for quite some time,” he said. “It’s frustrating, but I’m focusing on healing right now.”

To help cover mounting medical expenses, a friend of Sheridan’s launched a GoFundMe campaign, which the actor promoted in his video. With a goal of $35,000, the fundraiser has already gained significant traction and surpassed $25,000 at the time of publication. Sheridan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to fans and supporters for their generosity during a difficult period.

“Any donation is greatly appreciated,” he said. “Even just your thoughts, your prayers, your shares—it all helps.”

Sheridan, 65, has had a long and successful career in comedy and television, most notably through his work on Disney Channel in the early 2000s. His warm portrayal of a single father in That’s So Raven made him a fan favorite, and he's continued performing stand-up and acting in recent years.

Fans and fellow actors have flooded his Instagram comments with well-wishes, sharing memories of his work and offering words of encouragement as he focuses on recovery.
