A$AP Rocky recently joined The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, where he shared what it was like working alongside Denzel Washington on Spike Lee’s upcoming film, Highest 2 Lowest.
When asked about the experience, Rocky revealed that it wasn’t just Denzel’s acting that impressed him—it was his taste in music.
"Denzel pulled up to the movie set playing Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg Yo," Rocky recalled. "He likes to listen to Memphis rappers—modern Memphis rappers. Then he started quoting NLE Choppa… He’s really tapped in. Working with Denzel was a dream come true, he’s an OG."
The praise goes both ways. Spike Lee recently raved about Rocky’s performance while appearing on Carmelo Anthony’s podcast. "And A$AP, man. Fire. I mean, there’s some scenes with him and D [Denzel] head to head—he ain’t backin’ up. It’s like, ‘I’m here too!’ Very, very happy with the way the film turned out and looking forward to sharing it with the world."
With both Rocky and Denzel bringing the energy, Highest 2 Lowest is shaping up to be one of the year’s most anticipated releases.
